Self Awareness

A strong sense of self is critical to becoming a good journalist. That sense of self is what is called “self-awareness”, which is defined as the capacity for introspection and the ability to recognize oneself as an individual separate from the environment and other individuals.

It is self-awareness that allows a journalist to ask questions of someone whose political or economic views may not align with his or her own. It is also self-awareness that helps to develop listening skills.

At Mizan, the self-awareness module will give participants the opportunity to learn more about themselves as well as an improved ability to listen to others.
